Emergency Home Repair Program
How the Program Works

The Department of Housing and Community Development recieves referrals from the Mayor's Office, City Council Members and social service providers and provides the names of homeowners requesting assistance to the Repair Agencies.

The Repair Agencies are responsible for:

    Initial assessment of housing condition,

    documentation of applicant eligibility,

    inspecton of housing units,

    preparation of general work specifications,

    coordinating with other home repair and social service        providers,

    certification and selection of repair contractors,

    monitoring construction work,

    providing information to a central  database and                  submitting reports.

The program is implemented in conjuction with other community and social service programs which may provide additional home repair funds.
